Why do you have an answer for everything? It is quite clear that there is a divide among people regarding smoking. I am a non-smoker but I certainly do not have a problem with people who do. It is their choice, not yours. If you don't want to breathe in other people's smoke, then don't sit near them. Not everyone who go to pubs smoke, they don't whinge about it. With all due respect Manoj, you seem hell bent on wanting to complain about almost everything. The real world out there might come as a great shock to you. I don't sit around smokers when they are smoking, I don't mind them either, but I do try and put people off smoking, and that was what I was doing for Kirsty, hoping to put her off by saying she might affect other people!

How would you feel when someone else breathes in your smoke and dies? I dont smoke around non smokers. When I smoke, I go outside and shut the door behind me, and if somebody else is already outside I'll move away from them if they dont like it. If Im around people who dislike it then I wont smoke, I'll wait til later. I dont even smoke inside because I dont want the smell to get into the furniture, so I stand outside. Oh OK that's fine

Thats an good point Manoj, i hate sitting next to someone who smokes at work, because you can always smell it on their breath when they come back to their desk.

It looks like the government have now dropped plans to ban smoking in public places in England as they have decided it's not practical. news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk_politics/4327072.stmI think a similar ban is due to come into force in Scotland from 1st January.

No, I mean, England will follow our example in the future after they see that it has worked in Scotland too and are under more pressure.

Yes, i think thats got a lot to do with it Kirsty. Banning smoking in public places is such a big and controversial thing that they are using Scotland to see how it works before they do it here.

Well theyre not USING Scotland exactly because we were going to do it anyway, we have our own Parliament and dont need Westminster to give us their permission - but yes basically they are putting off the ban to wait and see how it goes here first
