Corrie fuming after losing
By SARA NATHAN and EMMA COX
FUMING Coronation Street stars missed the National TV Awards party after losing out to EastEnders.
The Street’s BBC1 rival sensationally picked up the Best Soap gong — despite being constantly thrashed by Corrie in the ratings war.
Stars including Jane Danson, who plays Leanne Battersby, Shobna Gulati (Sunita) and Kate Ford (Tracy Barlow) spent just minutes at the after-show bash.
They then set off for their own party with Emmerdale pals at London’s Funky Buddha nightspot before drinking at a Piccadilly hotel.

Anyway they know it's only a popularity contest and EE has always won more awards than Corrie

Two words : Sour grapes. This award is decided by public votes, and yes Kirsty it is a popularity contest. If more EE fans feel obliged to vote than Corrie fans then EE will win irrespective of whether the Corrie actors feel they deserve to win.

I definately prefer EE. It has definately been good at the moment. When this award is voted for by the public, i don't see why the Corrie cast can complain.

Exactly, if it was a panel or something then they have full right to complain. But then I suppose we can say the same about Shane Richie winning best actor, how can we complain when the public voted for him?

Exactly, it doesnt mean he's the Best Actor, it's just popularity.
I dont watch Corrie so I dont know whether or not EE deserved the award. All I can say is that the last year of Corrie would have to be pretty shit for EE to have been better.

Corrie was brilliant last year, HOWEVER, it's declined and EE's been good. So it could be to do with the recency effect

Yeah it's just the fact that EE has been good recently. It SHOULD be about the year as a whole but it never is.
